And now for a more modern mountain piece! This painting was a new technique for me and is my contemporary take on Pikes Peak mountain here in Colorado Springs.
It stretched me as an artist and taught me a lot about working with a new medium, silver leaf.
If you don't know, gold and silver leaf can be real or fake. It's very thin papers used in lots of creative making from jewelry to art to furniture. It's very fragile and messy so it's not the easiest thing to work with, but I took a bunch of notes on how to proceed, and really loved the final results! There's just no substitute for seeing this painting in person. The silver leaf has a 3d and reflective quality that cannot be conveyed fully in a photograph. All originals are signed and come with a certificate of authenticity.
